There is a right way and a wrong way to make a movie. You must know this before you begin your movie making process. Most people will jump right into shooting a movie and spend most of their time in pre-production. This is the wrong way to make a movie.

The best way to make a movie is to start writing a treatment for your movie before you actually begin filming it. Writing a treatment is imperative, as it will give the producers a clear idea of what kind of movie you are making. This is important because the treatment will provide them with a blueprint on which to base their decisions on when looking to produce your movie. I am not saying that writing a treatment for your movie is boring or that it is an easy task. On the contrary, it is quite difficult, but if you follow the right steps it can be done.

A treatment will allow you to write a script of the movie beforehand and see whether you have the time and the talent to do this. The trick is to write a very interesting treatment, but still keeping in mind the theme of the movie that you are making. For example, the script of the movie “The Informant” was one that took two years to write and was rejected by studios before it got released. After it was finished, Tom Cruise made two more movies on that same script! Pretty cool, huh?

The other key thing you need to do before you begin is to write a rough movie screenplay. This is like an outline of how the movie will turn out. You should go over this screenplay several times before you start shooting it. Each time you do this you will have some new ideas. You will also get a better feel for how the script will evolve. This will make it much easier to adapt the screenplay into the movie you want to make.

Once you have your treatment, you can now write a storyboard for your movie. You need to think about the basic plot of the movie and how it will be told. You will also need to decide if you will be using a matte or a hand painted look. It all comes down to personal preference. The final thing you need to do is go back and edit your screenplay. Most people do this on their own, but it is not necessary.
